pancakes and hound dogs

 For breakfast this Thanksgiving Sunday morning, we enjoyed a yummy recipe from Joyous Health called Berry Gluten-Free Pancakes.  I substituted the Buckwheat flour for Garbanzo Bean flour, and I cut the amount of oats in half.   

Normally, we'd probably eat 3-4 pancakes (wheaty ones), but we could only manage 1.5 despite the deliciousness.  

Wheatbelly says that honey is a definite no-no because of its high fructose content, resulting in quick release of insulin.  I used about a 1/4 teaspoon of Buckwheat Honey for a touch of sweetness.  Then again, I've always been a bit of a rebel.  Ha!  

 I imagine the total carb count for breakfast was a little high, and protein count a little low - 

First one was a little crumbly 

Man put maple syrup on his...and lotsa berries 

The final two were perfect (and are put away in the fridge for later) 

unrelated to anything but pathetic cuteness
